Fashion for Charity’s goal is to raise money for non-profit organizations in need of financial support in fulfilling their own unique causes, focusing on providing assistance to children and women in the local community. Fashion for Charity supports these causes by mobilizing the fashion industry to support the community through proceeds raised in doing fashion events. The proceeds provide relief and dignity to local women and children, who are victims of violence, abuse and neglect.

Funds generated from the 2011 Fashion for Charity event benefited two non-profit organizations, Project Start Off Smart (SOS) through the Homestead Police Department and The EDGE Charitable Foundation. The proceeds served to benefit women and children who are local victims of human trafficking and sexual abuse. Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery in which victims are used for forced labor or sexual exploitation.

For 2012, Fashion for Charity will be supporting GIRL POWER! a non-profit day and after-school community social change organization. Their goal is to promote positive behavior, enhance social skills and improve academic performance in adolescent girls. Girl Power! offers several empowerment programs to young girls and their families throughout Miami-Dade County including an alternative-to-suspension program; an after-school program; summer camp; mentoring; and post detention girls’ programs.
